Dispensing Optician Location Houston, TX (Addicks Park Ten area) :

Job Summary

Established in 1974, our offices offer Ophthalmology and Optometry services. Our practice is committed to the highest quality of patient care and customer services currently seek enthusiastic and positive opticians with a minimum of 2-4 years experience. We offer a professional work environment, competitive pay and commission for dispensing opticians with great benefits. Opticians will need reliable transportation and may be required to staff locations in a variety of locations. Offices with optical in 4 locations, East, West, Central, & Med Center. Must be able to work independently and as a team player, initiative and willing to work on a rotating Saturday schedule (generally 1 per month or 2 per quarter, can vary).

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties include, but not limited to

• Frame stylist and sales
• Dispensing Glasses & Contacts lenses
• Verifying Insurance Materials Benefits
• Use of a Manual lensometer
• Ability to assess and resolve patient issues with prescription eyewear
• In-depth knowledge of progressive lenses
• Ability to educate patients on lens options including A/R, transitions, high-index, etc.
• Able to make minor frame repairs and adjustments
• Charging and data entry of client demo and transactions

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong sales skills
• Must be comfortable selling Premium Designer Frames
• Billing and coding
• Work effectively under pressure
• Requires High School degree or Equivalent
• Preferred but not required Certified Optician and 2-4 years of related experience
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an Optometric or Ophthalmology Practice
• Performs a variety of tasks and can work under general supervision and be a team player

Job Types: Full-time, Commission

Salary: $14.00 to $16.00 /hour
